what we do
We have seen massive disruption to work and the workplace in recent years which has created heightened focus and opportunities for organizations to build thriving, healthy cultures.
In today’s complex and exciting work environment, strategy work goes far beyond traditional strategic visioning and planning.
Values work begins with an organization’s most valuable asset: its people. When an organization and its people articulate a shared set of values, the mutual commitment creates a sustainable culture of trust and confidence.
Becky brings an outside perspective about work and the workplace leveraging her experiences as a lawyer, HR executive, and non-profit leader.
OUR CLIENTS
Becky was my executive coach for 3 years. After an acquisition, my role changed in my company to an executive position overseeing the US network. Becky was critical in helping me face this new challenge. One outstanding quality was her ability to understand complex situations quickly and retain this information throughout our time working together. She has the sensibility and experience that helped in anticipating future challenges and bringing these to my attention. She prepped me in advance as I navigated these upcoming hurdles and guided me to develop an action plan. As I was transitioning to retirement, Becky was there to lay out my exit strategy after 30 years with this company – not a small task. She gave me guidance for not only myself but my teams and the organization. I truly valued her guidance and support as my confidante.
Becky is a creative and confident facilitator who can synthesize vast amounts of information quickly and guide participants in safe, comfortable, and energizing settings. She helps clients to clearly outline meeting objectives and works diligently to ensure that meeting participants feel valued and have a voice in strategic and meaningful conversations. Becky creates a balance of business, focus, and fun through custom-designed activities and experiences.
For nearly two years, Becky guided Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA) first, through a strategic visioning and planning process and subsequently, through an executive search for our new Executive Director. She partnered with me as Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, communicating with ease and the ability to connect with and inspire all those involved. She created a dynamic, inclusive, and comprehensive process for input and reflection by board members, staff, and community stakeholders. The Strategic Plan, which is the cornerstone of our work even two years later, has been transformational for the organization and has inspired all of us. Becky’s values run deep; she is an unwavering trusted advisor, a skilled facilitator, and continues to be an important confidante and colleague to me.
Becky has been a committed, strategic and influential board member for eight years. Her board service has included designing and delivering employment workshops for our participants; organizing volunteer events for board members; and serving as chair of Heartland Alliance’s Board Relations Committee. She was Chair of the Heartland Human Care Services board from 2018 to 2020 guiding us through a transformative strategic planning process and implementing a comprehensive board engagement initiative. Becky brought her professional consulting skills – strategic thinking, focus, energy, emotional intelligence, and ability to facilitate difficult discussions – to her board service. Through her leadership and board service, she demonstrated high value consulting skills that no doubt are leveraged for her clients.
I have partnered with Becky for over 15 years. She has served my organizations through her coaching, leadership development, and strategic thought partnership. Her blend of life experiences – legal, human resources, strategy, and coaching – have been invaluable to me as a non-profit leader. Frequently, when I face a challenge in my workplace, I reach out to Becky for perspective and advice. Even if she cannot help me, she is generous in reaching out to her deep network of partners who can assist me and my organization.
In 2013, I recruited Becky to join the Heartland Human Care Services Board prior to my role as Chair. She proved to be an enthusiastic and committed partner to her board colleagues and senior leadership. Several years later, Becky became Chair of HHCS and led the organization through a comprehensive strategic planning process.
Becky and I met in 1997 when she was hired as a consultant for Hyatt Hotels and we have worked together – in one fashion or another – ever since. I consider her a trusted colleague and strategic thought partner who always challenges me to think a bit differently. She demonstrates an amazing aptitude for guiding leaders and organizations through difficult times – executive transitions, business challenges, and culture shifts. She has a unique ability to quickly build authentic relationships, understand varying businesses, and to help teams simplify their focus for impact. Her energy and innovative thinking are two of her greatest attributes. I appreciate that she blends her business skills with her coaching and leadership development skills and offers workplace solutions that are not only effective but caring and compassionate.
