If you go into my study, first you will see bright colors – yellow and green walls, lots of collages, and memories of my travels to all seven continents. However, my books might be the overwhelming presence in the room. There are books in my closet that represent 27 years of book group discussions. On the large bookshelf in the corner, you will see books that reflect our family’s collective obsession for a good mystery – everything from Louise Penny to Kate Atkinson to Donna Leon. Under the desk, I have organized business books that reflect the hot topics of the day from psychological safety to values-driven leadership to managing burnout. On the shelves by the window, you see books of meditation, sacred rituals, and self-care. You will see the many books I’ve received as gifts – books about cooking, gardening, travel, and strong female leaders.

I honestly acknowledge that these books are but a small – very small – part of my book collection. The other books are stored safely in the basement, in other rooms of the house, or in my office. But no matter where they are stashed, they represent comfort and connection and family and learning and sheer delight in other people, places, and feelings.
On this website, I will regularly share some of my favorites – books that have mesmerized me or puzzled me – or just given me hours of escape when I needed it the most. I hope you will share your favorite books with me, too.
